Following an announcement by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA), the obligation to wear masks has been lifted at most indoor facilities nationwide from Jan. 30th.

However, Masks are still required on public transportation such as the subway, buses, taxis, and planes, as well as in medical facilities including hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies.
The inclusion of planes on the list means that passengers on all incoming and outgoing flights to or from Korea will still be required to wear masks, regardless of the policy in the country of departure or arrival.
But the health authorities noted that masks are optional in subway platforms, train stations, bus terminals, and airports.

Health authorities noted that the easing of the mandate does not mean that masks are no longer effective in preventing the spread of the virus and stressed that the vulnerable population, and those experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, are "strongly recommended" to mask up.

Thank you.
